2024 World Relay Championships: Isaac Botsio hails ‘amazing’ relay team after Olympic Games qualification

Africa-Press – Ghana. Ghanaian sprinter Isaac Botsio waxed lyrical about Ghana’s 4x100m relay team after they booked a place in the 2024 Olympic Games at the World Relay Championships in the Bahamas.

Botsio who ran second for Ghana in the relay, recorded a blistering time of 9.13s, contributing to Ghana’s first-place finish in the qualifiers with a time of 38.29s.

A misunderstanding between the 24-year-old and Benjamin Azamati led to a baton drop in Ghana’s first race on Saturday, but the young sprinter is happy with how the team bounced back.

“This team is amazing. When the errors happened yesterday, we were able to stay calm today. We brought our ideas with the coach so we were able to work together today to deliver,” Botsio told sports Journalist Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo.

Botsio ran the world-leading time of 9.90s earlier this year, albeit with a wind speed of +2.2. It will be his first-ever taste of the Olympic Games.
