Akufo-Addo Continues to Triumph Over the Idiot of Irmo, Trust Me

Africa-Press – Ghana. I could not help but literally fall off my chair when I came across the news headline in which the infamous Idiot of Irmo, South Carolina, right here in the United States of America, smugly presumed to have, at long last, triumphed over the man whose 2008 Presidential-Election Campaign this cheap renter of his medical license for easy and quick bucks was once made the manager of, in what was indisputably a strategically conciliatory arrangement made by the leadership of a crisis-ridden New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the runup to the 2008 General Election (See “ ‘I’m Glad Amoako Baah Now Knows Akufo-Addo Has Failed – Arthur Kennedy” Ghanaweb.com 7/8/22).

It goes without saying that if the legendary “Little Man from Kyebi” had made the egregious blunder of naming the Idiot of Irmo among his cabinet and executive appointees, the Akufo-Addo Administration would have been the worse off for the addition of this veritable criminal scam-artist who once had to leave the State of South Carolina to continue with his general medical practice. Needless to say, he waxes smack on target, when Dr. Richard Amoako-Baah, who also had some of his academic and professional training in the Dixiecratic American South, just like the Idiot of Irmo, allegedly describes the latter as “The cancer on the skin of the New Patriotic Party.”

You see, Dear Reader, nearly every critically thinking adult Ghanaian citizen is well aware of the fact that his quite inevitable decision to solicit fiscal assistance, largely in the form of Balance-of-Payment Liquidity, from the International Monetary Fund, is not fundamentally what may be aptly deemed to mark or constitute the administrative failure of President Akufo-Addo, all vehement protestations to the contrary notwithstanding. Rather, Nana Akufo-Addo’s most obvious governance or administrative Achilles Heel, as it were, has been either his flat and woeful inability or abject lethargy in not promptly and studiously moving to rein in the high spate of official corruption in the country. I have said this before and, once again, reprise the same here today, that a witheringly failed politician and/or statesman does not get offered the electoral mandate of the people two consecutive times, something that cannot be said of the Idiot of Irmo, who never even received more than five (5) of the legitimate ballots cast when he smugly and imperiously decided to gun for a parliamentary seat in his native home district of Asebu-Kwaaman, in the Central Region, about a dozen years ago.

The fact of the matter is that both Drs. Amoako-Baah and Arthur Kobina Kennedy – the official name of the Idiot of Irmo – decidedly lack any recognizable or remarkable following within the New Patriotic Party, the very political and ideological establishment in which they both claim to be among the ranks of the foremost opinion leaders and ideational forces to reckon with. You see, as I vividly recall, the last time that he decided to run for the National Chairmanship position of the NPP, the former Head of the History and Political Science Department at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) literally drowned in his own excrement. Which is why, like the Idiot of Irmo, Dr. Amoako-Baah cannot be taken seriously when he imprudently and impudently and vacuously attempts to leverage ethnic supremacist and chauvinist tendencies and sensibilities as an effective means of railroading the clearly unstoppable presidential ambitions of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the two-term substantive Vice-President of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Ghana.

You see, any objective criticism or critique of the performance of Messrs. Akufo-Addo and Bawumia cannot ignore the fact that the strategic manner in which these two progressive neoliberal leaders tackled the Covid-19, China-originated Global Pandemic was without compeer or any match on the African Continent and easily one of the best the world over. It can also not be overlooked that Nana Akufo-Addo spent most of his first term in office literally cleaning up after a messy and grossly and indescribably incompetent former President John “European Airbus Payola” Dramani Mahama, in such most vital sectors of our beloved nation’s macroeconomy as the complete overhaul and resuscitation of the Mahama-bankrupted John Agyekum-Kufuor-created National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and the comprehensive restoration of the country’s energy system, in particular, the total abolition of “Dumsor,” that is, the protracted four-and-half years of stygian or pitch darkness callously imposed by a complacent, smug and a vision-bereft and a pathologically self-infatuated Mr. John “Ouagadougou Akonfem-Kanazoe” Dramani Mahama.

It was just a matter of time before all these capital-intensive projects, plus the auspicious and landmark implementation of the Fee-Free Senior High School System began to take a heavy and unprecedented toll on the economic resources of the country. To be certain, where Nana Akufo-Addo has scandalously failed the nation and the New Patriotic Party establishment is the apparently woeful inability of the former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice to crack the whip without fear or favor on errant cabinet and executive appointees vis-à-vis wanton and rampant official corruption, especially where blood relatives and close political associates are concerned, that is, the intolerably high level of nepotism, and not merely the obviously reluctant decision by the President to solicit fiscal solvency assistance from the twin Bretton-Woods establishment of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
