Africa-Press – Ghana. Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Aurelien Tchouaméni will not be available for Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, after suffering a stress injury in his left foot.
The French midfielder has proven to be crucial for Los Blancos in this campaign, as Madrid are unbeaten in any game the 24-year-old has started in this season.
Speaking to the press about securing a possible 15th title in the Champions League, Ancelotti provided an update on the injury situation of Tchouaméni, indicating that he will be absent on the biggest day of the Meringes campaign.
“Aurélien Tchouaméni will miss the Champions League final due to injury. He’s working to recover for the Euros”, he said.
Real Madrid still have wide options in midfield at their disposal to see off Dortmund in the final, with the likes of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Federico Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga as options to step in for the crucial fixture.
Tchouaméni will be hoping his colleagues show their quality, as he hopes to secure his first Champions League title, while Carlo Ancelotti pursues his fifth.
Ancelotti already led the team to their 36th La Liga trophy but is hoping to secure the Champions League trophy in addition to culminated a remarkable season.
The much-anticipated match will take place at Wembley on June 1, 2024.
