ANME Welcomes International Sports Media to Morocco

Africa-Press – Ghana. The National Association for Media and Publishers (ANME), in collaboration with the Royal Moroccan University of Football, has welcomed dozens of journalists from Arab and African countries to Morocco as it stages the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The media delegation attended the tournament’s opening ceremony in Rabat, which featured a spectacular cultural display widely regarded as one of the most memorable in recent editions.

Ahead of the ceremony, the delegation toured iconic sites including the Hassan II Mosque, an architectural symbol of Islamic and Moroccan art, the historic district of Casablanca, the Corniche, Habous market, and Mohammed V Square.

They also visited the El Hank Lighthouse, the Casablanca Royal Palace, Casablanca Cathedral, and Casablanca Finance City, home to some of Africa’s most striking modern skyscrapers.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency during the hospitality tour, Madam Fatima Ezzahra Ouriaghli, ANME Vice President and Treasurer welcomed the international media and emphasised Morocco’s commitment to showcasing its warmth and unity.

“This tournament is an opportunity to demonstrate our passion for football and the hospitality of our people,” Ouriaghli said. She also underscored the importance of solidarity within the media landscape and across Africa as Morocco hosts 24 teams for its second AFCON,” Madam Ouriaghli said.

She added that Morocco has delivered strong performances in football on both continental and global stages in recent years, and hopes the 2025 AFCON would further cement its reputation as a leading football nation.
