Arteta praises Partey’s impact as Arsenal’s title pursuit intensifies

Africa-Press – Ghana. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reiterated the importance of Thomas Partey to the team and highlighted how they missed his services during his injury absence.

The 30-year-old midfielder suffered a muscle injury in October but recently returned to full fitness. Since his comeback, Partey has showcased remarkable performances, contributing significantly to Arsenal’s pursuit of the title.

Given his outstanding display in Arsenal’s 5-0 win over Chelsea, Partey was entrusted with a starting role against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. His presence proved crucial as the Gunners secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory in the North London derby, further intensifying their title aspirations.

“He’s a really important player and we have missed him for many months. He looks in great shape,” said Arteta as quoted by Fabrizio Romano

“It’s his presence, his quality, his physicality and his experience”.

Arsenal maintain their position at the top of the table with 80 points, just one point ahead of reigning champions Manchester City, who still have a game in hand.

Manager Mikel Arteta and his team are aiming to secure victories against Bournemouth, Manchester United, and Everton in their remaining fixtures. Their ultimate goal is to end Arsenal’s 20-year Premier League title drought.

The Gunners will also be keeping a close eye on Manchester City, hoping for them to drop points in their remaining matches to solidify Arsenal’s position at the top of the table.

With the title race heating up, Arsenal fans are eagerly anticipating the possibility of their team clinching the championship after two decades.

For Thomas Partey, he admits his consistency will be crucial in determining his future at the club.

“Well, I still have to the end of the season, I think. I have to do my best and try to perform at the highest level and I think the most important is to be available every time,” he told football.london a few weeks ago after Arsenal’s win over Luton.
