B&FT Launches Youth Economic Forum to Support Young Entrepreneurs

Africa-Press – Ghana. The Business and Financial Times (B&FT), in partnership with Ecobank Ghana, has launched the Youth Economic Forum (YEF) to empower young entrepreneurs and promote youth-led growth.

The initiative provides mentorship, business support, market access, and leadership training, and will serve as a national platform for dialogue and innovation to elevate youth participation in economic policymaking.

Speaking at the launch in Accra, Dr. Godwin Acquaye, Chief Executive Officer of B&FT, said the initiative reflects the publication’s belief in youth as the driving force of sustainable development.

“At B&FT, we believe young people must lead Ghana’s industrial and economic transformation. YEF is a strategic step in investing in that future,” he said.

A key component of the initiative is the B&FT Entrepreneurship Challenge 2025, an annual competition open to Ghanaian start-ups operating for at least one year.

Winners will receive prizes worth GH₵50,000, along with tailored mentorship, training, and media visibility.

Dr. Acquaye noted that the challenge was not merely a contest but a development pipeline for youth-led enterprises, designed to support their long-term sustainability and impact.

Strategic partners, including Ecobank Ghana and members of the YEF Advisory Board, will provide financial support, technical expertise, and mentorship to ensure the programme achieves measurable outcomes.

Applications are open at www.youtheconomicforum.com until August 18, 2025.

Finalist interviews will be held in early September, with the top five winners announced on September 8, 2025.

All finalists will benefit from ongoing business support, investor visibility, and integration into the YEF support ecosystem, which offers continuous growth opportunities.

Through the Youth Economic Forum, B&FT and its partners aim to nurture a generation of innovative, resilient, and economically empowered youth who can contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s transformation agenda.
