Africa-Press – Ghana. Gary Madine scored his fifth goal of the season in Blackpool’s win over Bristol City

Blackpool made it three successive Championship home wins with a comfortable victory over Bristol City.

The Seasiders took control of the game with two goals in the space of three first-half minutes, with CJ Hamilton slotting them in front before Gary Madine quickly headed in a second from a corner.

Josh Bowler then fired home a third early in the second half to put the home side in complete control.

Bristol City enjoyed the majority of possession but were only able to score a late consolation when Nahki Wells tapped in.

Victory lifted Blackpool up to 13th in the table, while Bristol City, who are now without a win in nine away league games, remain 16th.

Relive Saturday’s EFL action

Both sides created chances in a lively opening, with Robins keeper Max O’Leary denying Bowler early on before Grimshaw palmed Antoine Semenyo’s shot around the post.

O’Leary was called into action again to tip over a Jordan Gabriel effort from out wide before Blackpool hit them with two quick goals.

Hamilton pounced to put them in front when Jerry Yates nodded across goal before Madine thumped a header home.

Any hopes of a Bristol City fightback after the break were dashed when Bowler added Blackpool’s third early in the second half.

Semenyo curled an effort wide as the Robins tried to respond, with substitute Wells finally netting a late consolation from Jay Dasilva’s pass.
