Africa-Press – Ghana. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCoP) Joseph Owusu-Ansah, the Bono East Regional Police Commander has commended the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) for helping to strengthen the workforce, and improving national security.

He described personnel of the YEA attached to the police as valuable assets, acknowledging their instrumental role in assisting the police to maintain law and order.

DCoP Owusu-Ansah gave the commendation when some personnel of the Bono East Regional Directorate of the YEA paid a courtesy on him at Techiman, the regional capital, and expressed the hope that the relationship between the Agency and the police would be strengthened further in the supreme interest of the nation.

He said the nation required absolute peace and security for progressive and sustainable development and gave the assurance that the police administration would continue to work hard to preserve the prevailing peace of the region.

DCoP called for stronger collaboration to promote community policing and thereby protect lives and properties.

Mr Samari Abdulai, the Bono East Regional Director of the YEA, said the agency remained dedicated to deepening collaborations with relevant state and non-state institutions for the sustenance of peace.

Mr Abdulai explained that the purpose of the visit was to access first-hand information about the operations of the police and the general welfare of the personnel attached to the police, saying it further sought to motivate the personnel.

He said the Agency was collaborating with the police and sister-security services in ensuring that the deserving personnel of the YEA attached to the police were absorbed after they had served their two-year contracts.

The visit also took the YEA personnel to the Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service (GNFS), National Ambulance Service (NAS), Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Ghana
