Boost for Nigeria as AFCON absentees return ahead of World Cup play-offs against Ghana

Africa-Press – Ghana. Nigeria have been boosted by the return of AFCON absentees Victory Osiheme, Leon Balugon and Peter Etebo ahead of the World Cup qualifiers play-off against Ghana.

The trio missed the Africa Cup of Nations due to injury but have all returned to training at their respective clubs.

Napoli marksman, Nigeria’s main forward is expected to make the squad when the Super Eagles travel to Ghana in match for the epic encounter.

Peter Etebo was spotted training with English Premier League side Watford and he is in line for the Hornets clash against Burnley this weekend, while Leon Balugon readies himself for a Super Eagles return.

The Black Stars will host Nigeria on March 21, 2022 before traveling to Abuja for the second leg in seven days time.

The winner of the two-legged game qualifies for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars are in a hunt for a new coach after parting ways with Serbian trainer Milovan Rajevac.
