Breaking News: Ghana line-up gargantuan pre-World Cup friendly against giants Brazil

Africa-Press – Ghana. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has lined-up a massive friendly against five-time world champions Brazil next month in a bid to give the Black Stars their best preparation possible for the 2022 World Cup,” Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The Black Stars will take on the South American giants on 23 September during the FIFA international break. The GFA, led by the dynamic Kurt Okraku, is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that the Black Stars are in the best shape for the tournament in Qatar in November.

The Ghanaian federation has been working overtime to secure high profile matches for the Black Stars for the upcoming FIFA break which resulted in the decision to play Brazil.

The match has been made possible thanks to the decision of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to postpone September’s AFCON qualifiers to allow the five African sides going to the World Cup to prepare well.

A deal for the match to take place has been signed by both federations as the two countries aim to get the best preparation for the World Cup to be played in the Asian country.

The approach is to ensure that Ghana play the toughest possible opponents before they travel to Qatar to face their opponents at the global tournament. It is in this direction that the four-time African champions will play the South Americans next month at a venue yet to be decided.

However, insiders have told Ghana’s leading football news outfit Ghanasoccernet.com that the match is likely to be played in Europe with most of the players of both teams plying their trade with top sides in Europe.

The move is meant to minimize travel time for both sides while maximizing the training time the players will have with their national teams during the international break.

Ghana are likely to organise another friendly during that break to give coach Otto Addo the chance to see about six new players that have switched nationality to play for the Black Stars.

The matches will be the last preparatory games before the final call for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. It will also give the former Ghana international winger the chance to also observe the current form of his players who are mostly based in Europe.

The game will also give coach Otto Addo the chance to assess the Black Stars on how they fare against South American opposition given that they have been drawn to face Uruguay. Ghana have been drawn in Group H of the World Cup where they will play Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.
