Africa-Press – Ghana. Cape Coast, Jan 20- Mr George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, Member of Parliament for Cape Coast South, has called on the Central Regional and Metropolitan Fire Service stations to deliberate on issues of water shortages in the Metropolis and ways to resolving them.

The visit was to also strengthen collaboration and bond between his office and the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) to ensure pertinent challenges were resolved and reduced in the area.

Mr Rickets Hagan on his visit presented items and equipment that would help quality, effective and efficient service delivery of the Fire officers in the Metropolis.

The items donated included; a brand new computer, Laser jet printer and its accessories to facilitate administrative and operational outputs. He commended the Regional GNFS for their tireless efforts in reducing Fire outbreaks in the Metropolis.

Mr Ricketts-Hagan also applauded them for their unflinching commitment and inputs in resolving the pending water shortages in the area. He called on industry players, benevolence in the area to come on board to assist the effort to providing potable water access to the people in the Metropolis.

The Cape Coast South MP praised the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) and GNFS for their quick response to intermittent fire outbreaks in the area He urged them to strengthen their emergency response strategic plans for the betterment of all and pledge his commitment to facilitating the synergies between GWCL and GNFS for their water acquisition and supply scheme.

Receiving the items, DOIII Thomas Asare, the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly (CCMA) Commander of the GNFS expressed gratitude to the MP for the kind gesture. He promised that his office would use the items for its intended purpose to improve service delivery in the Metropolis and the Region as a whole.
