Construction Work on 15-Kilometer Road Begins to Connect Communities in Berekum Municipality

Africa-Press – Ghana. Mr Joseph Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister has performed a groundbreaking ceremony for work to begin on the construction of the 15-kilometer roads in the Berekum Municipality.

Fonasa Company Limited is executing the project linking Mpatabo, Nyametease, Kyiribaa and Kato communities in the Municipality.

Expected to be completed within 12 months, the project also included drainage systems as well as the tarring of the Biadan-Senase stretch.

Mr Akwaboa reaffirmed the government’s dedication to improve road infrastructure to drive economic development in the region and urged the people to maintain their trust and confidence in the government.

On completion, Mr Simon Ampaabeng Kyeremeh, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Berekum East Constituency said the project would impact local businesses by improving accessibility to urban markets.

He therefore urged the local communities to cooperate with the contract and asked the contractor to also executive quality work.

Hajia Fatimatu Abubakar, the Berekum Municipal Chief Executive expressed appreciation to the government for the project execution.

She also commended the government for prioritizing and helping to improve women’s agricultural activities, saying the road would enable women farmers to access ready markets for their farm produce.
