Africa-Press – Ghana. The DBS Industries Limited, a roofing and construction company, has assisted the renovation of the pergola project of the Sunyani Central Prisons canteen.
The company supported the roofing of the facility, which served as a VIP lounge and provided shades, seats and a dignified space for visitors.
Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, Mrs Paulina Sarpong, the Sunyani Branch Manager of DBS Industries Limited, said the company remained committed to supporting relevant institutions.
“As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, we are proud to contribute towards improving facilities at the central prisons,” she stated.
Chief Superintendent of Prisons (CSP) Mr Emmanuel Yeboah Afful, thanked the company for the assistance, saying the facility would not only beautify the canteen environment, but also provide additional seats for officers and visitors.
“As part of the rebranding and welfare of officers’ pillar of the Think Prisons 360 Degrees initiative, the prison canteen, which contributes to internally generated funds has been upgraded with the construction of the pergola,” he stated.
