Africa-Press – Ghana. Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in Ahafo Ano South-West District have been assured their concerns will be integrated into the Assembly’s development agenda.

Mr. Abubakar Sedik, District Chief Executive (DCE), gave the assurance when members of the Ghana Federation of Disability paid a courtesy call on him at Mankranso to congratulate him on his nomination and confirmation.

He said the Assembly was committed to promoting inclusivity by ensuring that disability-related issues formed an integral part of its development planning and implementation.

“The Assembly remains focused on promoting inclusivity and ensuring that disability-related priorities are fully integrated into its development agenda to address the challenges of all citizens,” he stated.

Mr. Sedik emphasized that his administration would be open to suggestions from all stakeholders to help achieve the district’s development goals and realize his vision of an inclusive administration.

He cited a proposal to provide income-generating equipment for PWDs this year as part of initial interventions and appealed for their spiritual and moral support to ensure successful implementation of the Assembly’s projects and programmes.

Mr. Agyenim Boateng, District President of the Federation, who led the delegation, thanked the DCE for his assurances and expressed hope for divine guidance in his leadership.

He highlighted accessibility to public infrastructure and inclusion in local development initiatives as key challenges faced by PWDs, calling for urgent attention and action.
