Africa-Press – Ghana. Takoradi, Dec. 14- A Principal Investigator at the Western Regional Office of the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Madam Fidelia Owusu Konadu, has lauded the government’s digitalization drive, saying it could help consolidate the fight against corruption.

She said the introduction of digital platforms in administrative activities carried out by both public and private firms could reduce the money lost to corruption.

Madam Konadu, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), indicated that Ghana lost GHS13.8 billion to corruption annually, which she said was not a good sign of winning the corruption fight.

She mentioned the introduction of clocking in of workers as a proper means to ensure and track the regularity and punctuality of workers in both private and public workplaces.

She attributed the practice of corruption to cultural practices, poverty, nepotism and favouritism, amongst others. Madam Konadu said CHRAJ’s mandate was to identify and seal loopholes in both private and public enterprises to curb corrupt activities perpetrated by officials.

She said the fight against corruption was a shared responsibility and encouraged all stakeholders to play their roles and responsibilities well. Madam Konadu urged the public to report corrupt practices to the appropriate authorities.
