Africa-Press – Ghana. Eintracht Frankfurt icon Jan Aage Fjörtoft has approved of Ghanaian winger Ansgar Knauff’s transfer to the club from Dortmund.

The 20-year-old has joined on loan until June 2023 in search of regular playing time having struggled to break into the Dortmund team.

“Knauff is the best thing you could get in this transfer window,” Fjörtoft told ” Bild ” and emphasized the advantages of the deal with the BVB jewel: “Hungry, from the Dortmund school, youth national player, and he wants to show himself – and prove to Dortmund that he should have played more.

“Ansgar is a talent from our own offspring who already brings a lot with him.

He came to us with the desire to be able to gain more match practice as part of a loan.

We would like to offer him this opportunity to develop at a high level,” explained Sebastian Kehl, Head of the Licensed Players Department and future Sports Director of Dortmund.

Knauff was born in Göttingen to a German mother and Ghanaian father but was raised by his single mother.

He is a German youth international and has set sights on representing the senior national team in near future.
