Africa-Press – Ghana. Ghana has been handed a massive boost after Amiens defender Nicholas Opoku has returned to the pitch after a six-month injury layoff.
Opoku, 24, featured for the side’s reserves for the first time since he was sidelined back in July 2021.
The center-back returned to Amiens SC for preseason after Ghana’s international friendlies against Morocco and Ivory Coast.
However, the player was diagnosed of a knee problem which will ruled him out for several months.
Opoku picked up an injury whiles playing for Amiens in the Ligue II against Rodez last season, but returned to fitness before the end of the campaign.
He was then named in Ghana’s squad for the international friendlies against Morocco and Ivory Coast.
His return is timely for Ghana ahead of the 2022 World Cup playoffs against perennial rivals Nigeria in March.
