Africa-Press – Ghana. Ambassador Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh, Ghana’s former envoy to India, has endorsed Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong’s bid to become the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer for the 2028 general election.

He urged party delegates to vote for Mr Agyapong when the NPP holds its presidential primaries on January 31, 2026.

Mr Asomah-Cheremeh, a former NPP Chairman in the then Brong-Ahafo Region, said the party needed a candidate who embodied boldness, confidence, and a deep understanding of the grassroots.

He described Mr Agyapong as the only aspirant with the charisma and traits to secure the party’s victory in 2028, warning delegates not to repeat the “unpardonable mistake” that contributed to the NPP’s 2024 election defeat.

He called for unity, urging members to bury differences, address emerging challenges, and re-strategise to reclaim the party’s traditional seats.

With a united and committed front, he said, the NPP could regain political power in 2028.
