Private Legal Practitioner, Amanda Clinton

Legal practitioner Amanda Clinton has set her sights on the vacant Ghana Football Association(GFA) hot seat which some see as a poisoned chalice.

Clinton does not only want to be remembered as being the first female President of the predominantly male populated body but believes she is the best person suited for Ghana football’s top job.

“I just don’t want to be the first female president of the GFA, I want to be the best president of the association. I have the body of a woman with a man’s brain and mind,” she told Happy FM.

Despite her relative inexperience in football Amanda Clinton is unfazed by the challenge ahead and wants delegates to try someone from outside the known football circles who will come with fresh blood and ideas.

“Track record matters so those saying they have been in the football fraternity for long should show us what they have done so far. I think we have tried and tested most of the hopefuls so it’s time to give the new faces a chance.

“There’s a lot of mistrust in Ghana football but football people are the most open-minded people I have come across,” she revealed.

Amanda Clinton came to prominence as the counsel for some aggrieved customers of gold dealership firm Menzgold whose funds were locked up.

She also represented the Ghana Football Association after the number 12 video by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas popped up.

The legal practitioner will have to do battle with experienced football people like former vice presidents of the GFA,  Messrs George Afriyie,Fred Pappoe, Nana Yaw Amponsah, Kurt Okraku,Wilfred Osei Palmer and George Ankomah Mensah.
