Africa-Press – Ghana. Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has received the United Nigeria Airlines’ inaugural flight scheduled to operate on the Accra-Abuja – Lagos route.

The airline was received with the symbolic water canon salute performed by the Rescue and Firefighting Service section of Ghana Airports Company Limited.

Mrs Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, Managing Director of GACL, said the commencement of flight operations on the Accra-Abuja-Lagos route was a clear demonstration of the growing confidence in Ghana’s aviation industry.

She said it further reinforced ongoing efforts to position Ghana as a preferred aviation hub in West Africa.

Mrs Opare emphasised that the arrival of United Nigeria Airlines marked the beginning of a new era of convenience and efficiency.

“It offers passengers more travel options and greater connectivity between the regions most vibrant cities,” she added.

“We extend sincere appreciation to United Nigeria Airlines for the confidence in the Ghanaian market and to all partners whose support made the event possible,” she said.

The event brought together government officials from both countries and a host of other dignitaries.
