Africa-Press – Ghana. He explained that the recent trip by offivials of the GDCL to Europe, especially its meeting with Ericsson was to explore the best ways to successfully execute the digital centre redevelopment project in Ghana.

Mr Agyemang who stated this when he interacted with the media after a meeting at the headquarters of Ericsson in Stockholm, Sweden.“This project which will lead to the establishment of the state-of-the-art innovation centre in Ghana is being sponsored by MTN and will commence in November,” he said.

The delegation which included members of GDCL board, and some officials of the Ministry of Communication and Digitalization visited the Ericsson Headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden, to familiarize themselves with their activities and to also explore business avenues between the two outfits.

The delegation was on an investment promotion mission to Finland, Denmark and Sweden to create an avenue for Ghana to showcase the country’s vast business potential and pursue opportunities for bilateral trade and investments.

The Ghana delegation met and networked with senior government officials, captains of industry, and potential investors in the three countries.

The Ghanaian team was offered the opportunity to pitch bankable projects to potential investment partners in their respective countries.Government and Industry Relations Manager of Ericsson, Mikael Halen, welcomed the Ghanaian delegation’s call for potential partnerships.

In a presentation, Mr Halen took the Ghanaian delegation through the projects and projections of Ericsson and expressed the hope that the prospects emanating from their discussion, especially from GDCL would yield mutual benefits.

GDCL is charged with the development of technology parks and digital Centres across Ghana by providing the required infrastructure, facilities, environment, services and programs that foster the growth of the ICT and IT-enabled Business Process Outsourcing industry.It also has the vision to provide the required environment, infrastructure and services to facilitate the growth of ICT/ITES sector and accelerate technological innovation to augment the private sector’s role in providing relevant ICT solutions to various sectors of the economy.
