Africa-Press – Ghana. Ghana forward Joel Fameye scored his fifth goal of the season to go top of the Russian First League top scorers chart this weekend. The former Asokwa Deportivo striker is in fine form this season scoring five goals in six appearances.
Fameye scored the match-winner for Rubin Kazan against Ulyanovsk on Saturday to go top of the scorers chart. Vasily Aleinikov from SKA-Khabarovsk is second on the chart with four goals in five matches.
Joel Fameye joined Rubin Kaza this summer as a free agent from Orenburg. He was the club’s top scorer last season, scoring 15 goals in 26 appearances.
Rubin Kazan move up to the fourth place with 11 points after the win Fameye is currently in top form and is hoping to break in the Ghana squad ahead of the 2022 World Cup to be staged in Qatar. He last played for the Black Stars during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers under Coach Charles Kwabla Akunnor.
