Genk won emphatically 4-2 at the Cegeka Arena to start their UEFA Europa Conference League qualification on a high note.

Colombian international defender Daniel Munoz opened the scoring in the 31st minute after being set up by Japanese forward Junya Ito.

Mechelen equalized on the hour mark thanks to a goal from midfielder Geoffrey Hairemans.

Paintsil set up DR Congo forward Theo Bongonda, who gave Genk the lead again in the 80th minute of the game.

Four minutes later, defender Rob Schoofs scored the equalizer for the visitors.

After three minutes, Bongonda scored again, and Paintsil added the icing on the cake in stoppage time to ensure Genk took all three points.
