Africa-Press – Ghana. Ghana goalkeeper Jojo Wollacot made his first goal contribution of the season in the English League Two on Tuesday night.

The Black Stars first choice goalie provided an assist as Swindon Town defeated Sutton United at the County Ground, to record back-to-back victories.

Wollacott found forward Josh Davison with his long range pass in the 14th minute, and the attacker took advantage to break the game’s deadlock.

The English-born Ghanaian goalkeeper made some incredible saves to deny Sutton United from a quick equalizer, but 14 minutes later Joseph Mohamed Kizzi leveled for the visitors.

However, just four minutes after the break Swindon restored their lead through Harry McKirdy and it proved to be decisive as the hosts collected all three points.

Jojo Wollacott’s form will be crucial in Ghana’s World Cup playoff against Nigeria later this month. The 25-year-old received criticisms for his performances at the Africa Cup of Nations as Ghana exited at the group stages.

The former Bristol City goalie conceded five goals in three games at the tournament in Cameroon.

Ghana will hosts Nigeria in the first leg on March 25, 2022 with the venue yet to be confirmed. The team will then travel four days later for the second leg in Abuja.
