Africa-Press – Ghana. Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan was in Senegal to play a role in the unveiling of the newly-built Abdoulaye Wade stadium.

The former Ghana captain joined other African football legends to face Senegal’s former players in an inaugural game on Tuesday.

Former Senegal striker Khalilou Fadiga netted a belter to score the first goal at the ultra-modern edifice before Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha leveled for the African legends.

Gyan was impressed by the facility and praised the Senegalese people for hosting him and other stars.

He also expressed delight in meeting his peers including Didier Drogba of Ivory Coast, Samuel Eto’o of Cameroon and Emmanuel Adebayor of Togo.

“It was a huge honour to be part of the football legends invited to the opening of the new stadium in Senegal. Thank you for the opportunity. It has been a privilege to be at this amazing building which will serve for 10’s of years for all the people to benefit and enjoy the sport,” he wrote on Twitter.

Asamoah Gyan is yet to hang up his boots as he seeks one last dance before retiring.
