Africa-Press – Ghana. Ghana midfielder Baba Iddrisu will spend another season in the Spanish topflight after Real Mallorca’s final day victory at Osasuna kept them in the league.
Baba, who was an unused substitute watched as Mollorca stun Osasuna 2-0 at the El Sadar Stadium.
After a goalless first half, Real Mallorca broke the deadlock in the 47th minute through Angel Rodriguez.
The Vermilions sealed victory with seven minutes remaining after Clement Grenier scored for the visitors.
The victory kept them out of the drop by just a point ahead of Granada, who drew their game against Espanyol.
Baba Iddrisu made 26 La Liga appearances and scored a goal as Real Mallorca survived the drop. His performances has seen him attract interest s from several clubs in Spain, including Atletico Madrid.
He is expected to make a return to the senior national team ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Central Africa Republic next month.
Iddrisu will also travel with the team to Japan for the Kirin Cup tournament.
