Ghana’s men 4×100 relay team failed to progress to Saturday finals in the ongoing World Athletics Championship in Doha, Qatar.
Despite clocking a seasonal best time of 38.24 in heat 2 it was not enough to earn them a place in Saturday’s final as they could only finsh sixth.
The men 4 x 100 team were handed a difficult heat with power houses like the USA, Great Britain, Brazil, Turkey, Italy, Jamaica and Qatar making the list for the semi-finals.
The team made up of Joseph Paul Amoah, Benjamin Azamati, Martin Owusu-Antwi, and Sean Safo-Antwi, clinched a place in Doha after claiming gold at the 2019 African Games in Morocco with a time of 38.30 seconds.
Great Britain finished first in heat 1, followed by Brazil and the United States of America respectively.
The sole African representative in Saturday’s final will be South Africa who finished first in heat 2.
