Africa-Press – Ghana. Mobile money transactions in Ghana hit GH¢365 billion in April 2025, marking an 80 per cent increase from GH¢203 billion in April 2024.
The figures, published in the Bank of Ghana’s May 2025 Summary of Economic and Financial Data, highlight the growing adoption of digital financial services nationwide.
Transaction volumes rose to 778 million, up from 630 million in the same period last year.
Registered mobile money accounts increased to 75.2 million, with 24.2 million active users.
The number of registered agents nationwide reached 911,000, with 414,000 active agents.
Interoperable transactions between mobile money platforms and banks totalled GH¢4 billion, reflecting stronger system integration and financial inclusion.
