Africa-Press – Ghana. Reverend Dominic Yeo, the Global Chairman of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship (WAGF), on Friday led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on President John Dramani Mahama in Accra.
The visit was ahead of the launch of the 2026 World Congress of WAGF, which was scheduled to be held in Accra on Friday, November 14.
A statement issued by Assemblies of God Ghana, said Rev Yeo was accompanied by the General Superintendents of Assemblies of God – Ghana, Benin, and Zambia — Rev Stephen Wengam, Rev Ben Sodji, and Rev Lipenga Banda.
It said the Chairman of the Local Planning Committee of the 2026 World Congress, Rev Andrews Awintia, and other dignitaries also accompanied Rev Yeo.
The Global Chairman commended President Mahama for his visionary, decisive and bold leadership, which he said had contributed to the relative stability of the economy.
He further praised him for launching a Code of Conduct for government officials.
Rev Yeo informed the President of the official launch of the World Congress, scheduled to take place later in the day.
He also presented a souvenir of the launch to the President.
The Global Chairman additionally requested enhanced church–state partnership to enable the Assemblies of God, Ghana, to organise a successful Congress.
In his response, President Mahama pledged the government’s support for the World Congress.
He reiterated the need for leaders to be guided by moral and biblical values.
