Africa-Press – Ghana. The Greater Accra Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC) has rescheduled the confirmation of the President’s Ada East District Chief Executive nominee to Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
The RCC, in a statement, signed by Madam Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, Greater Accra Regional Minister, available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) disclosed that on Wednesday, May 8, 2025, an election was held in the Ada East District Assembly for the confirmation of the President’s nominee for District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr. Kenneth Kabu Kanor.
It noted that the outcome of the election saw Mr. Kanor securing 24 Yes votes against 14 No votes, with one vote rejected, indicating that the nominee did not obtain the required two-thirds majority of votes cast.
According to the Council, there is another ballot for the position, in accordance with Section 15(5) of the Model Standing Orders for District, Municipal, and Metropolitan Assemblies.
“Consequently, the second round of voting for the confirmation of Mr. Kenneth Kabu Kanor will take place on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Ada East District Assembly Hall,” it stated.
