Africa-Press – Ghana. Mr Hanan Gundadow Abdul-Rahman, one of the contestants in the just ended National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Tamale Central Constituency Parliamentary Primaries, has expressed his support for the eventual winner of the contest, Professor Seidu Mahama Alidu.
Mr Gundadow, who came second during the contest secured 536 votes, in a statement, congratulated Professor Alidu and gave assurance that “I shall join the campaign and contribute in diverse ways for the eventual election of Professor Alidu as the Member of Parliament for Tamale Central in the upcoming Parliamentary by-election slated for September 30, 2025.”
The statement said “The contest highlighted the caliber of skills set available to the NDC in the prosecution of our nation’s agenda. The primaries showcased the continuous support the NDC enjoys from all persons in the Tamale Central Constituency.”
It commended all delegates and constituents of Tamale Central Constituency for the show of support during the period leading up to the primaries, saying “We are profoundly grateful that you stood with our team and the votes you gave my campaign.”
It said “By your support, we came close to winning but most delegates decided otherwise. Your support, which yielded 536 votes, is the greatest honour of my life and I am forever grateful that you stood with me.”
The statement extended best wishes to all the Opinion Leaders, Members of Council of Elders, Constituency Executives, and all Ward and Branch Executives of the NDC in the Tamale Central Constituency “For the successful parliamentary primaries and pledge my continuous support for the party.”
