Africa-Press – Ghana. Former Ghana defender Frimpong Manso says interim Black Stars coach Otto Addo needs to make a bold decision on forward Jordan Ayew.
According to the former Kotoko coach, the Crystal Palace attacker has failed to meet expectations and hence the reason for him to be dropped.
Jordan Ayew last scored for the Black Stars in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome in March 2021.
“Our biggest headache is the attack, where Jordan Ayew has proved that he cannot be relied upon to handle it, hence the need for the Black Stars coach to look for other options as we meet Nigeria in our last World Cup qualifier,” Frimpong-Manso told the Graphic Sports.
The former Marseille attacker also failed to register a goal at the Africa Cup of Nations as Ghana exited the competition at the group stage.
The Black Stars will be playing Nigeria in the playoff of the World Cup qualifiers later this month, and coach Otto Addo will be naming his squad later this week.
Ghana will host the Super Eagles first on March 25, 2022 before travelling to Abuja in four days time for the second leg.
