Founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has registered his displeasure in some members of the umbrella family who go about disrespecting others in their political discourse.
The former Ghana leader expressing his discontent on the Okyeman Traditional Council and the NDC bruhaha said, any person born out of the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) and the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) does not show indiscipline towards other as according to him, “NDC stands for natural justice, discipline and respect”.
It would be recalled that residents and chiefs of Akyem Abuakwa protested against the leadership of the NDC over what they said was “abusive and provocative” comment against the Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, by the party’s Ashanti Regional Secretary, Kwame Zu.
Kwame Zu while addressing participants of a demonstration by the Coalition for National Sovereignty last week said among other things that a water treatment project which was provided in the hometown of the current President, Kyebi, saved the Okyenhene from drinking from the same river animals drank from.
He has since apologised for the comment indicating “I hold the Okyenhene in high esteem”.
But Mr. Rawlings, however, commenting in a post on Tweeter, wrote: “Let’s hope our party can curb the use of strong language by some in their political discourse. I’m glad the Okyeman citizenry bared its teeth enough to elicit an apology from the NDC branch responsible”.
