Africa-Press – Ghana. Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the Minister for the Interior has commended the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Ghana for their good work in helping the country in its development agenda.

He said, “You have built schools, you have built hospitals, provided potable water facilities and have done a lot to help the underprivileged in our community.”

Alhaji Muntaka made the commendation when he gave his fraternal message at the 59th edition of the Annual Convention (Jalsa Salana) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the United Kingdom.

The Convention, which had over 35,000 guests, aimed to strengthen the link of man with God as well as bringing the Community together in a spirit of brotherhood.

The event also aimed to enhance the understanding of the teachings of Islam through various keynote speeches.

It is also an occasion where civic leaders, parliamentarians, political leaders, diplomats and faith-based organisations deliver speeches on the pathway to peace.

The Minister congratulated the gathering and the Community for their slogan, ‘the love for all, hatred for none’, which he described had permeated since he arrived at the Convention.

He said he had seen united in diversity been exhibited from different people from different continents working together for the sake of Allah, for the sake of humanity.

“We want to urge you to continue to do this at a time that the world needs peace more than anything. We want you to provide leadership in all that you do,” he added.

He expressed the hope that the unity and the purpose that they had set for themselves would go back home in their various communities to continue to develop their community with its diversity.

He assured the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Ghana of the Government’s continued support to prevent religious intolerance.

“We will support you in whatever you are doing and we will make sure that you have the free space to be able to perform your religious rites without any hindrance,” he added.
