Africa-Press – Ghana. Mr Joseph Kwaku Kpattah has been unanimously retained as the Presiding Member (PM) of the Anloga District Assembly, to serve his third consecutive term in office.

The election, witnessed by all 42 assembly members, district officials, traditional leaders, and key stakeholders in the district was conducted in accordance with Section 17 of the Local Government Act 936 (2016), which stipulates that a presiding member must be elected by a two-thirds majority of all members present and voting.

Mr Kpattah, who ran unopposed, secured a one hundred percent endorsement from the Assembly members, demonstrating strong confidence in his leadership and stewardship over the period.

Officials from the Electoral Commission (EC) facilitated the process, with the results officially declared by Madam Evely Wutor, the District Director of the EC.

Among the distinguished observers at the event were the District Coordinating Director, the District Chief Executive, and other senior officials of the Anloga District Assembly.

Mr Kpattah, in his acceptance speech, expressed gratitude to the assembly members for reposing their trust in his leadership.

“I am deeply honoured by this unanimous endorsement. I pledge to continue working hand in hand with all development stakeholders, traditional authorities, and community members to advance the growth and prosperity of the Anloga District. Together, we will ensure that our communities benefit from inclusive development and improved governance,” He affirmed.

The re-election of Mr Kpattah is widely seen as a vote of confidence in his commitment to participatory governance, development-oriented leadership, and other achievements as stakeholders have expressed optimism that his tenure will further strengthen the district’s institutional frameworks and community engagement initiatives.

Mr Kpattah, who is also a professional teacher at the Keta Senior High Technical School (KETASCO), was the Assembly member for Blemazado electoral area and later elected as Presiding Member for the District since its creation.
