Africa-Press – Ghana. The Juaben Municipal Assembly, under the leadership of the Municipal Chief Executive, Mrs. Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu, has unanimously approved the 2026 composite budget, valued at GHc 37,200,000.00.
According to the MCE, the approval will help facilitate the implementation of key projects and programmes in the Municipality.
It was approved during the second ordinary meeting of the fourth session of the Juaben Municipal Assembly, held at Juaben.
Mr. Samuel Ohemeng, the Budget Analyst, who presented the budget on behalf of the MCE, said certain expenses would be covered under Internally Generated Funds (IGF).
These include monthly payments for casual labour, fuel allowances, transfer grants, public education, repair of office buildings, staff development, maintenance of office equipment, and maintenance and repair of official vehicles.
He explained that activities under HIV/AIDS and Persons with Disabilities, such as household items, purchasing of tools, workshops, public education, and donations, would be funded under Government of Ghana (GOG) grants.
According to him, the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) would be used to facilitate major government flagship programmes such as the construction of 24-hour economy market at Juaben and 2No. satellite markets at New Bomfa and Boamadumase to boost the economic activities within the Municipality.
Other projects include the construction of CHPS Compound at Atia, Duapompo, and Odoyefe, as well as a small-town water system at Yaw Nkrumah, drilling and mechanised boreholes at Apemso, Juaben Health Quarters, Akyaamakrom, Duapompo Zongo, Ofoase, and Adumasa, among others.
He announced that under the legacy projects, the assembly would construct a CHPS compound at Adumasa, complete the Nurses’ Quarters at Juaben, and complete a 1No. 10-seater toilet facility at Achiase-Asonmeaso and Daman to address sanitation challenges.
Additionally, the assembly would expand and furnish the Hwere Annnum, Anunum Valley, Juaben, and Bomfa-Edumasa zonal councils to enhance revenue mobilisation and meet the 2026 revenue target.
