Mr Lord Dotsey Hammond Agbogedenu, also known as “Chairman Lord,” the Assembly Member of Tackscorner Electoral Area, in the Ketu South Constituency of the Volta Region, has declared his intention to contest for the position of Ketu South Constituency Youth Organiser in the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He believed the move would enable him to serve the NPP in the constituency diligently as well as position himself to campaign vigorously for the party to recapture power in the 2028 general elections.

Mr Agbogedenu, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), confirmed his readiness to file for nominations when the process is opened, and added that many party faithful in the area has been pushing hard for him to get the nod for the constituency youth organiser position.

“Many party members and faithful who believe in me as best suited to serve the party’s youth front in the constituency, are always on my neck to contest and l am ever ready to serve my beloved NPP in the Ketu South,” he said.

He explained that serving the NPP and transforming Ketu South Municipality would be one the biggest and greatest achievement, which he promised to perform beyond the limit to bring back the party to power in the next election year for more development in the area and in Ghana at large.

Mr Agbogedenu noted that his involvement in the party’s activities over the years, coupled with mentorship under experienced leaders, has prepared him for the role while experiences gathered has also equipped him with the necessary skills and knowledge to lead and mobilise the youth effectively.

He said: “I have worked assiduously over the years as a committed and dedicated Member of the New Patriotic Party by persistently and consistently contributing my quota to the positive preservation of the political fortunes or image of the party in Ketu South.”

He believed that his strong interpersonal skills, humility, and active participation in youth programmes have positioned him as the ideal candidate to energise the party’s grassroots support base for the best.

He said the importance of attracting floating voters as the major target as the NPP looks ahead to the 2028 general elections and pledged that youthful engagement would be pivotal to the NPP’s long-term electoral success.

He reaffirmed his loyalty to the NPP and pledged unwavering dedication to the party’s mission and values if given the nod to serve.

Mr Agbogedenu, previously served in Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON), the official student wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for three consecutive terms at the University of Education, Winneba as South Campus coordinator, Director of Research and EC secretary.

He is currently serving as the party’s coordinator for the Tackscorner Electoral Area.

Meanwhile, the contest for constituency executive positions is expected to intensify in the coming months, with several aspirants likely to enter the race as the NPP prepares to reorganise its base ahead of the next national election.
