Africa-Press – Ghana. Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum is sad to see his former side WAFA in the throes of relegation after masterminding a historic 1-0 over the academy side on Saturday afternoon in the Ghana Premier League.
It was Kotoko’s first-ever win at the WAFA Stadium in Sogakope in five years.
Franck Mbella’s 63rd minute goal bagged the points and kept WAFA deep-rooted in 17 position on the table and now facing a tall order to escape.
“I have mixed feelings. Happy we’ve won but the defeat is sending down the team that made me who are I am in coaching down to relegation,” Ogum told StarTimes in his post-match speech.
“Good we got the win after two defeats so matches like this, the feeling is not complete but as a professional when it is business it is business.”
Ogum led WAFA to a third place finish in the 2020/21 season before moving to Kumasi to take charge of the Porcupine Warriors.
