Let the Peace of Easter Reign in Conflict Areas – Christian Council Admonishes Nation

Africa-Press – Ghana. The Christian Council of Ghana has rallied the nation to use the Easter festivities to make peace among one another, particularly within conflict communities.

It said Easter was a period of reflection and reconciliation and peace must reign across the country in honour of the sacrifices of Christ.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Reverend Dr Cyril Gershon Fayorse, the General Secretary, Christian Council of Ghana, said peace was a cardinal pillar of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and that must resonate among the citizenry.

He said it was time to promote peace among individuals, groups, and communities and foster peaceful co-existence in Ghana’s social, political, religious, and ethnic architecture.

“Easter is a very serious exercise about reflection, restoration, reconciliation, and redemption. It is about reflecting on what God has done for humanity. We must reconcile with people who have offended us,” Rev. Fayorse said.

“We pray that the peace that comes with Easter will visit our brothers and sisters at Bawku and other conflict areas.”

Rev. Fayorse urged persons or groups at loggerheads to bury the hatchet and embrace love and compassion as demonstrated by Christ.

“Easter is an important period for Christians and non-Christians to unite as people of peace, as we reflect on the sufferings of Christ,” he said

“Easter is the most important celebration of Christianity. If you take away Easter, then there will be no Christianity.”

“Easter is a significant holiday in the Christian calendar, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It marks the day Jesus Christ rose from the dead, symbolising hope, renewal, and eternal life.”

For millions of Christians worldwide, Easter is a time of spiritual reflection, renewal, and celebration. It celebrates joy, hope, and renewal, bringing people together in faith and community.
