Africa-Press – Ghana. Powerlifting Association (GPPLA) has successfully staged its national talent hunt program, the “LiftBeyondLimits” tournament.
The one-day competition, held at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium, sought to scout and develop new talent from across the country for the GPPLA national team’s upcoming national and international contests.
The gathering brought together more than 35 people with impairments or disabilities from Ghana’s Central Region.
The coaching staff included Head Coach Prince Nyarko, George Ohene-Adu, and National Paralympian Tahiru Haruna.
At the end of the day, 12 participants were chosen for additional training and development.
Mr. Majeed Eldeen, President of GPPLA, stated that the talent scouting effort aimed to give athletes a competitive platform.
He said the exercise would contribute to building an accurate national database for para powerlifting participants.
