Africa-Press – Ghana. Malmo manager Andreas Georgson insists Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Lomotey brought some stability in his team during the 3-1 victory over Sivasspor in the Europa League playoff first leg.
The Black Stars midfielder was introduced in the 70th minute as he made his debut for the Swedish giants. “It was good for him to have made his debut in an atmosphere like today,” said Goergson after the game.
“He already said in the Sundsvall match that he thought it was cool, but today it was something more because today there was massive support already from the first minute for every tackle and ball win, you could hear the crowd and it gave energy that really helped us.
“In the performance there were bits that he will improve quickly with some mispasses that I have not seen him make before. I think that is due to the pressure, which is perfectly normal. He helped us in the moment with energy and stability.”
Lomotey’s debut was delayed due to work permit issues. Meanwhile, goals from Moustafa Zeidan, Anders Christiansen and Niklas Moisander ensured Malmo travel to Turkey with the advantage.
