Media General GCEO scoops Woman of the Year Award at 8th EMY Africa Awards

Africa-Press – Ghana. The Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Media General Group, Beatrice Agyemang, has been named the recipient of the Woman of the Year Award at the 8th edition of the Exclusive Men of the Year (EMY) Africa Awards.

This year’s edition was held on Saturday, October 14 at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Center (AICC).

Madam Beatrice Agyeman won the enviable award for her outstanding contribution to the media industry in the year under review.

The EMY Africa Awards, known for celebrating leaders and distinguished gentlemen making an impact in society, makes room to recognise a distinguished female achiever for the ‘WOMAN OF THE YEAR’ Award – the only category reserved for women.

The Woman of the Year Award, “recognises an impactful woman of excellence and innovation who has inspired many, broken new grounds or old barriers, and contributed to her community and nation,” Executive Director of EMY Africa, Daniel Kojo Soboh said.

EMY Africa Awards selected Madam Beatrice Agyemang for the award having recognised her inspirational rise through the ranks from her journey as a reporter, to her current position as Group CEO of one of the largest and leading Media Organisations in Ghana, which is worth celebrating.

“You are a well-respected woman in media who has developed and is building your organisation into one of the most successful media organisations in Ghana today,” Executive Director of EMY Africa, Daniel Kojo Soboh stated.

He said Madam Beatrice Agyemang’s journey in the media industry has been marked by exemplary leadership, strategic vision, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Under her guidance, Media General has flourished and expanded its footprint in the media and entertainment space, reaching new heights in terms of content creation, broadcasting, and digital media.

“Throughout her tenure as Group CEO, Madam Agyemang has overseen the successful execution of numerous initiatives that have solidified Media General’s position as a leading media conglomerate. Her dedication to quality programming, innovation, and community engagement has set a standard for the entire industry”, the award organiser’s said.

Madam Agyemang expressed her gratitude to the EMY Africa Awards for this recognition and emphasized the importance of growth, learning and resilience in building a career; “I am deeply honored and humbled to receive the EMY Africa Award. I want to take this moment to emphasize the profound significance of owning your journey”.

She said “rising through the ranks in work is not just a climb; it’s a journey of growth, learning, and resilience. Each step up the ladder is a testament to your dedication and ability to overcome challenges. Embracing the ascent is where you find your true potential.”

She also acknowledged the dedicated Media General team whose hard work and creativity have been instrumental in achieving the company’s milestones.

Madam Beatrice Agyemang has led Media General – owners of TV3, Onua TV, Onua FM, 3FM, Akoma FM, Connect FM, APL, 3news.com and 3Foundation – to the top with the recent feat coming by way of the conglomerate being named Media Organisation of the Year and Marketing-Oriented Organisation of the Year at the 34th CIMG Awards.

Host of TV3‘s morning show New Day and The Day Show Berla Mundi also went home with the Young Achiever Award (Female) with Mr Eazi winning the male edition.

Among some of the award winners on the night were Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus, who won the Discovery of the Year Award and Man of the Year (Sports), former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan, who won the Continental Icon Award, Bill Asamoah, who won the Actor of the Year Award, and Black Sherif, who was named Man of the Year (Music).

The EMY Africa Awards are an annual event that celebrates the achievements of men and women who have made significant contributions to society in various fields, including business, entertainment, and sports.

The awards are organized by the Exclusive Men’s Club International, a non-profit organization that promotes the development of men and boys in Africa.
