MTN Foundation Chairman Calls for more Investment in Technology

Africa-Press – Ghana. Professor Franklyn Manu, the Board Chairman, MTN Ghana Foundation, has noted the need for investment in technology to propel the growth of the country.

Investment in technology, he noted, should cut across industries, government institutions and equipping the various schools with state-of-the-art equipment to empower students with digital skills for the emerging tech space.

He added individuals, especially the youth, lacked the technological know-how and must be trained to fit in this dispensation of evolving technology to promote employability and growth.

Professor Manu, during the Foundations Bright conversation series, an engagement with media and other stakeholders said there must also be a consistent strategy to bridge the gap.

He said the youth unemployment was a critical challenge and called for urgent actions to stop the youth from engaging in illegal mining activities.

Professor Manu stressed that galamsey was an economic issue which must be tackled head-on and advised the youth to take pride in career development, work hard, be honest and take interest in their own future.

The MTN Ghana Foundation was established in 2007 to drive the CSR initiatives of the company in the country with focus on Health, Education and Economic Empowerment.
