Napo is Bold & Assertive; NDC has Strategically Chosen to Interpret these as Arrogance

Africa-Press – Ghana. Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) as running mate to the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is bold, assertive, and driven, and the results of his work are evident in the lives of many young Ghanaians, their parents, and communities who have directly or indirectly benefited from the Free SHS policy, among others, the Director of Communications of the NPP, Richard Ahiagbah has said.

Mr Ahiagbah said that the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has strategically chosen to interpret these attributes of NAPO as arrogance in order to distract us from focusing on the lack of vision in their ticket, their gross incompetence in office, and the danger their ticket poses for Ghana.

He explained that the selection of Manhyia South Lawmaker Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh as running mate to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is a practical decision for the NPP.

Ahiagbah says the NPP has a complete and unreserved confidence that his nomination will help the NPP win on 7th December and positively impact the goal to improve conditions for Ghanaians.

In a post on his X platform, Ahiagbah said “Choosing NAPO as a running mate is a practical decision for the NPP. We have complete and unreserved confidence that his nomination will help the NPP win on 7th December and positively impact the goal to improve conditions for Ghanaians. NAPO has been a compassionate leader. He is bold, assertive, and driven, and the results of his work are evident in the lives of many young Ghanaians, their parents, and communities who have directly or indirectly benefited from the Free SHS policy, among others.

“The NDC has strategically chosen to interpret these highly valued attributes and work ethic of NAPO as arrogance in order to distract us from focusing on the lack of vision in their ticket, their gross incompetence in office, and the danger their ticket poses for Ghana. Let’s not fall for it. The 2024 presidential election is a clear choice between former President John Mahama and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Let us focus Ghana’s attention on the two candidates and ignore the invitation to trivialize the discussion. It’s possible with Bawumia-NAPO.”

The National Council of the NPP unanimously endorsed Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh at an emergency meeting held in Accra on Thursday, July 4.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said that the partnership is an excellent one that will win the 2024 general elections for the NPP.

Speaking to journalists after the confirmation, President Akufo-Addo said, “National Council has endorsed the nomination of Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh to be the running mate of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

“The NPP has an excellent ticket and we’re going to win with this ticket on 7th December 2024, that’s the news. The feeling is good, they make a very good pair, and they are going to win.”

Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh assured members and supporters of the NPP that he will help Dr Bawumia to prosecute a formidable 2024 campaign to break the 8-year election cycle.

He says he understands that the task ahead requires the collective effort. He further called upon all members of the NPP to join hands to collectively strive to achieve their ‘ambitious goal of transforming Ghana into a prosperous nation’.
