National Council of Zongo Chiefs Mourns Adansi Crash Victims

Africa-Press – Ghana. The Executive Committee of the National Council of Zongo Chiefs has extended its heartfelt condolences to the government, the people of Ghana, and especially the bereaved families of the eight persons who perished in a tragic helicopter crash on Wednesday.

In a release issued to the Ghana News Agency on Friday, in Accra, the Council described the deceased as “gallant Ghanaian souls who died on a national assignment,” noting that their service and sacrifice should be honoured and remembered by all.

Citing the Holy Quran to bring comfort and spiritual reflection, the statement referenced Surah Al-A’raf (7:34), which reads, “And when their time comes, they cannot delay it for a single hour nor can they advance it.”

It also said in Surah Ali Imran (3:185), Allah says: “Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your full compensation on the Day of Resurrection. And he who is drawn away from the fire and admitted to paradise has attained salvation: and the worldly life is only the enjoyment of delusion.”

The Council encouraged Ghanaians to remain united in grief and to strengthen bonds of love and compassion during this time of national mourning.

“As Ghanaians, let’s take pride in knowing that Almighty Allah is the knower of all things and we should be thankful to Him always. We should love one another and wish good for ourselves.”

It also appealed to the public to refrain from sharing graphic images and videos of the crash scene, describing such acts as insensitive and disrespectful to the memory of the departed and the pain of their families.

“May Almighty Allah console the President of the Republic of Ghana, the bereaved families, and all Ghanaians. And may He grant all the deceased Jannatul Firdaus. Aameen,” it added.

The helicopter crash, which claimed the lives of eight Ghanains, has left the nation in mourning, with many paying tribute to the fallen officers for their dedication and service to the nation.
