Swifts nesting on the Rock travelled as far as Cameroon, the Republic of Congo, Senegal and Ghana during the winter months before returning to the same nest in the Gibraltar Museum. And one Swift actually flew the whole of the Sahara desert in one day. The story of these incredible journeys were catalogued and published in the Plos One scientific journal. Museum Director Clive Finlayson spoke to Jonathan Sacramento who asked him what the study hoped to achieve.
