NPP Officer Urges Probe into Nkwanta South DRIP Machines

Africa-Press – Ghana. Mr Stephen Kofi Obikyenbi Junior, Communications Officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Nkwanta South, Oti Region has called for a probe into the usage of constituency’s District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) machines.

He invoked the Right to Information Act 2019 (Act 989) to demand clarity over allegations that Mr Geoffrey Kini, Member of Parliament ( MP) for the area, was deploying DRIP machines to a private building project.

The information in a letter dated November 17, 2025, signed, was addressed to the Coordinating Director of the Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly.

The letter requested copies of work orders and job sheets authorising the use of DRIP machines, records of fuel, maintainance and operator logs for the machines in question, any correspondence between the assembly and the MP’s office concerning the alleged deployment.

It emphasised public accountability, stating, “The people of Nkwanta South deserve to know whether public resources meant for development are being diverted for personal gain”.

The Assembly acknowledged receipt of the request and was expected to respond within the statutory timeframe under the RTI.
