NPP Women'S Organiser Questions Ndc'S Economy Rollout

Africa-Press – Ghana. Madam Hilda Afua Asamani, aspiring NPP Women’s Organiser for Nkwanta South, has criticised the slow rollout of the NDC government’s 24-hour economy and proposed Women’s Bank, saying residents see no results after a year.

She said market women, youth and small business operators who expected early job creation and economic support were still waiting for visible interventions.

“People were promised jobs and stronger support systems, but many are still asking when these will move from promises to action,” she said.

Ms Asamani called for the immediate establishment of a 24-hour market in the constituency, arguing it would boost incomes, expand trading opportunities and ease pressure on daytime commerce.

She stressed that women, who dominate the informal sector, would benefit most if government ensures proper lighting, security, sanitation and transport to support night trading.

She also urged authorities to fast-track the creation of a Women’s Bank or a similar financing scheme to improve access to affordable credit for small-scale entrepreneurs.

According to her, delays in implementation were creating uncertainty and weakening confidence in the policy.

She called on the government to provide clear timelines; implementation plans and constituency-level details on how Nkwanta South would benefit.

Ms Asamani maintained that what matters to citizens is not policy announcements, but visible outcomes such as jobs, access to credit, and improved livelihoods.
