NSA Launches “Matchday Booklet” to Promote Sports

Africa-Press – Ghana. The National Sports Authority (NSA), in collaboration with Aurum Global Partners (AGP) Ltd, has launched its first “Matchday Booklet” to provide innovative marketing strategies for the promotion and development of sports in Ghana.

The matchday experience event brought together various sporting federation executives, including cycling, athletics, arm wrestling, and rugby, among others, to network and share ideas for the growth of Ghanaian sports.

Mr Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, the Director General of the NSA, speaking at the launch, said this matchday experience was a template not just for football but for all sporting federations in the country.

He said it was an opportunity to start the matchday experience with Ghana’s home game against Mali on September 8, 2025.

“We should not underestimate the power of partnerships, cooperation and networking because it is one of the most powerful tools for sports development.”

Mr Ankrah said it was the new era in Ghana’s sports, adding that “As we go to the stadium to support the Black Stars, we can also tune ourselves to support athletes, badminton, boxing, cycling, basketball, etc., whenever they have competitions.”

“Every sport here has something that someone or an organisation is looking for, but it’s just the connection.”

“Dr Ackah and his team are bringing the revolution to Ghana; let’s support and be part of it. Don’t lose guard. This is a groundbreaking moment, and he is a game changer that would help you transform your dreams into reality,” said the NSA Boss.

Dr Steven Blessing Ackah, Executive Director at AGP, commended the NSA boss for accepting their innovative idea.

He said 52 federations headed by the NSA was not a joke but rather needed funding for competitions.

“The data, marketing place, infrastructure availability, branding and promotion for these federations are not too visible; therefore, if you are asking an investor for investment, it becomes a challenge.”

He said as there was nothing like the matchday experience in the national football team, it was an opportunity to introduce it with Ghana’s World Cup qualifying game.

“We will have different matchday experiences for all the federations and go out to seek sponsorship to support the federations.”

“The matchday experience has come to stay; it consists of digital and physical booklets to be distributed across the various institutions in Ghana.”

Mr Okyere Darko-Mensah, the Member of Parliament for the Takoradi Constituency, said talent was not enough for the growth of sports, but it was the organisation’s responsibility to make it look attractive.

He said, “Talent is not enough; it is the organisation skills and branding and marketing skills that will put behind the necessary materials for the game.”

“As we leave here, I believe that the federations organising competitions will start putting together the business plans, branding skills and marketing plans for support.”
