Africa-Press – Ghana. Ghana forward Osman Bukari is set to transfer from Red Star Belgrade to Major League Soccer (MLS) side Austin FC in the upcoming transfer window.

The 25-year-old winger will reportedly be signed for €7 million.

Bukari joined Red Star Belgrade in July 2022 from Gent after a successful loan spell at French club FC Nantes.

He quickly became an important player for the Serbian champions, recording 25 goals and 20 assists in 77 appearances.

His contributions have been pivotal in securing two consecutive league titles and two domestic cup victories for Red Star Belgrade.

Notably, Bukari scored Red Star Belgrade’s only goal in their 3-1 defeat against Manchester City in their first match of the 2023–24 UEFA Champions League.

Bukari debuted for Ghana on 25 March 2021 in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against South Africa. Since then, he has earned 16 more caps and scored three goals.

He also scored for Ghana at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and was part of the squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Bukari’s move to Austin FC represents a significant step in his career, bringing his attacking prowess and international experience to the MLS.
